Kerbing - Alloy Refurb / Repair

Firstly, i apologise for this topic being about my 318 and not a Zed, but since they have alloy wheels in common i hope the advice is transferable!

I had a little argument with a metal edged kerb and as such it decided to vandalise my alloy by scraping along the front.

I was wondering what my options were to repair it, and approximate costs for doing so (obviously different firm to firm).

P.S I apologise for the dreadful state they WERE in when i took the photo, doing 25,000 a year meant a lot of time driving, not a lot of time cleaning.

Sorry to see the damage to the alloy. :(

It is an easily fixed, however I would be expecting to pay between £55 and £70 depending where you go. Sorry but I don't know of anyone in your neck of the woods, but no doubt someone more local to you might be able to point you in the right direction.

Not yet. Have a stupidly long week at work, so will be over the next couple of weeks. Although the house may slow that down a little!

Having cleaned it at the weekend, have noticed some other corrosion on the alloys (all 4) but can't quite justify getting them all done, so will probably get the scrape repaired, then sell the car and finally get myself a Zed!!!!! :driving:

If it's not too far from you, there's a place in Swindon that gets rave reviews on the Alpina Register Forums

Interesting - until VERY recently, that place was a Lepsons franchise.

Yes, and, by all accounts, it's still got the same staff and MD - just not a Lepsons franchise anymore

They became Platinum in June/July. They disentangled themselves from Lepsons as the Swindon MD wasn't too happy with the direction Lepsons were taking and obviously had the interests of his own business to consider foremost. They have done 6 full wheel refurbs (4 of them since the re-brand) and a weld repair for me and I can't recommend them highly enough: I travel a very long way to use them

+2 They did my Dynamics too. I now need new tyres on the back and am petrified some ham-fisted fitter is going to damage them

If you look on the map and see where Ade lives, and quite how far he travels to take his wheels there, it should tell you something about them... :)

It's all because I care who fiddles with my cars :P
