Keeping rubber trimmings black?

How does everyone keep there black rubber trimmings black? E.g. the black strips around your side windows, the front windowscreen cowling. For those peoples trimmings who have faded a little over time. I have used son of a gun but it only lasts a few washes and returns to faded black after that. Any thoughts?

I would also like to know this. My drivers side looks awful, only part of the car that looks old and its really quite annoying, but I haven't got round to sorting it out yet! I was thinking of using blackener... but if there is a better product then that would be better.
 
Zaino Z16 does the job for me. Durable satin finish gives back the original shine to trimmings (Two coats also looks great on tires and outlasts just about everything else out there) :thumbsup:
 
Thanks for your suggestion, will this put the black back into the rubber or just make it shine? Mine have gone a nasty grey.

The dull grey rubbers really bring down the look of the car especially when its clean!
 
If the condition of your trimmings need a rejuvinating approach, I suggest following the steps posted here:

You may need to go to the highest level of restoration by using ForeverBlack.
 
Gummi Pflege is also a very good product for treating rubber. Can be purchased on Ebay for around a tenner delivered.
