Just went to have a look at a Z4 near me and it was in really good condition, but the tyres were all extremely worn, hardly any tread at all tbh... passenger front i suppose wasnt that bad but still would need changing within the next few months for sure!
Anyway, i started her up and bare in mind ive only ever been in and test drove one Z4 which was last week and it was a brand new 3.0. I was amazing by how responsive the engine was when i revved her up, sounded like a true race car lol!
Im after a 3.0 but im gona take this Zed out on Thursday afternoon and see what she goes like before i dismiss going for a 2.5.

Looks OK but if the dealer cannot be bothered with the tyres make sure you have a good look ( i am sure you will ) at what else he may not bothered with service, pads, discs ect.

The seats look very worn but maybe the standard seats wear more i have the M.Seats and after 25k still look fresh.

Remember your buying at the right time so wait for the right car if you are not happy.

I want some fun dude, i want to put the roof down in the summer and here the straight 6, if i wanted a normal fast car, id go for something normal like a coupe :D
 
Looks OK - and web review of Stebbings is quite reasonable for a secondhand car dealer but only 3 months warranty. Seat condition is not everything as it depends on how many owners (and their size!). Worn tyres - not good and may reflect (as GAZA62 points out) how the previous owner generally treated the car. Just remember the current road conditions and the tread on the tyres when you test drive it - personally with worn tyres I wouldn't - not worth the risk.

I cant buy yet anyway but atleast i can test a 2.5 out and see what i think.
The only other one ive tested is a new 3.0 with a folding hard top, so it may be very different, ie noisy, alot less power, less smooth etc etc :)

I reckon im just gona keep checking my local area for Z4's for now and when they pop up, im just gona go test drive them so i get my fix until late Jan/February when i can actually buy one!
 
I think you can get alot more Z4 for £12k, not just in engine size, I drive a 2.5 and my car has everything ( I think) that this one has. but I had a less budget, For 12k I would be looking for a few more toys, it runs on 16" wheels, if you are happy to stay on that size all well and good, if not then your gonna have expense in getting bigger rims, as for the tyres, I would give the dealer the price for 4 x RFT's good ones including fitting ad tell him you want that deducted from the price, and then if you buy it put on some Falkens or Vreds.

All that aside, as what AlanJ said as well, :thumbsdown:
 
Looks nice, though I drove a 2.5i before I got my 2.5Si and noticed a big difference in performance. Good hunting :thumbsup:
 
There was a 2007 2.5 SE and yes they are 17" alloys, i had them on my Z4. The dealer most likely doesnt want to pay out the £600 for a full set of 17" runflats.
 
Hmmm im pushing my budget (13k) out here but i really like the look of this one! ( mileage, colour and sport version) Also its from BMW... so i get all the 12month warranty and extras etc... but look at the 3 pics of the 1st link and im sure thats not the car there selling due to it being 2 different cars... hmmm are they just being lazy?

The 2nd car is nicer i think but a bit more cash! You reckon i could get them down to 15k :-)?

Anyway, being as its cold, winter's here, recession and everything, you reckon BMW would take offers? Would they actually lower the price and if so, how much you reckon?

Just my 2p worth related to the tyres- It's normal for the dealer not to change anything like that until the buyer raises and negotiates on it, unless they are clearly illegal. If the dealer put 4 brand new RFT's on he'd just knock £800+ off his margin and you'd simply find something else to haggle on.

You often see the same with chips, dents and scratches, marked alloys, etc. where upon pointing them out the dealer gets them fixed.

I'm not advotating that they shoudl sell a sub standard product in any way, but finding the faults, haggling and working out if the car is a good deal is all part of the game.
 
From £15.5k to £13k, you need to work very hard. The NS wheels are different from OS wheels from the pictures though.
 
lol na mate i didnt expect to lower them down to 13k :P

My budget is 13k but if that specific car is that good and i really like it, then im sure i could push my monthly payments to say 14.5k :wink:

I wonder if they would go as low as that though? hehe

On a side note, that 2.5l i saw the other day... i actually test drove it this afternoon and was quite supprised on how well she pulled away! Then i test drove back to back 20 mins later the new 3.0 Z4 from BMW themselves again and the difference between the 3 and the 2.5 is remarkable... theres a massive difference even still!

If the old 2006/7 3.0 is that fast, then ill be a happy bunny!

Ps. i asked about the 3 bald tyres on that 2.5 and they said they would put new tyres on them as 'yes' they seem bald! :)
