Just some motorsport photos - Brit GT champs 8th May 2010

I decided to give a recent BMWCC meet a miss (gutted as muppet's photos looked like a great meet) and took a trip to Knockhill circuit instead. They had a full programme over 2 days, including 2 x 1-hr Brit GT championship races. No BMW involvement unfortunately (unless you count the engine in the Ascari - what a noise :) ) but loads of great racing. This is only the second time using the 55-250 lens on my DSLR (a Canon 350d) and I'm still very much learning, but I'm quite happy with how they came out.

Comments and advice for how I can improve in future are welcomed. Full gallery HERE, but here's a few previews:

Ally there are some really excellent shots there.....its helps to have a nice circuit with a good view and not too many spectators in the way! I went to ONE GP in my entire life.....the 1980 at Brands Hatch, won by Alan Jones.

I managed to get some good Kodachrome shots but I walked the circuit early on and by the time I got back to the spot I'd chosen the crowds were like 10-20 deep all the way round....bummer! Never again, TV is much better!

But keep up the good work....I really like your style.

My only constructive criticism is that a bit of Photoshopping to increase colour saturation in some cases would be good - are you taking in RAW or letting the camera do some processing?

AlanJ - yep, honestly was although I completely know what you mean :D.

Those were actually my first attempts at using Photoshop (Elements 8) and a did do a bit of tweaking of colours, etc using it. At the moment I've not progressed to shooting in RAW, but I'm no longer letting the camera do all the work - I don't venture into the auto shooting settings on the camera at all. RAW is something I'm going to start with though, just to see what I can do with it...
