Well after only a couple hours with it decided its going back!
Fitting was very easy, just 4 clear straps with a kind of velcro holding the wind deflector to the hoops.
Unfortunately even in the small time ive had it fitted noticed a couple of annoying thing.
1:- although its held very secure the perspex at speed vibrates badly in the middle. When looking in the rear view you can just see it shaking away. On the E85 Z4 the just roadster had a clip in the middle that also held it in place. This is badly needed on the E89 Z4!
2:- NOISE!! i thought a wind deflector was suppose to make the cabin quieter at speed, first think i thought pushing past 50-60 "wow this is noisey all of a sudden". Its a different noise to having the Z4 without a deflector, seems unlike the OEM BMW 1 which is mesh and allows air to still flow around the perspex seems to push all the air between the windows and the outer of the roll hoops, making in my eyes a very unpleasant noise when driving along.
I suppose although i dont think this will get tested because imagen it will be on its way back tomorrow is that i think it does reduce cabin buffeting, although i only have short hair it was defo not moving about as much at speed than without.
But the first 2 problems for me far outweigh the 1 thing (and that it is suppose to do!). Looks like the missus is just going to have to put here hair in a bobble for a while until i squint and hand over £300 to BMW for the OEM 1. Although i do think some weekend when im bord i will go and test drive a Z4 with 1 fitted before i part with my money.
