Hi

You have all inspired me to paint the calipers as they were looking abit miserable :(

I like the red look but thought i would give black a go. Used Hammerite and seems to of worked out ok, looks alot better than the standard rust

Took me a couple of days about 6 hours but actually enjoyed it.

They look so much better than standard rust and dust and especially on the very open 108's

I agree it's very theraputic and sounds like you were in no rush

nice results! i took all day to do mine aswell and thoroughly cleaned my wheel arches while i was there. theraputic and really enhances the car

Looks really good. Black or silver calipers look neat without being over the top.

I agree, dont like the look of OEM calipers so dont want to draw attaention to them by paintng red etc.

did you take the calipers off?

I started too then decided not too  so spent alot of time with masking tape :? Probably better to just take them off in hindsight. I just took my time and used some fine craft brushes and it worked out better than i thought it would. Happy with the result, the difference is noticable but quite stealth 8)

cool. i'm paranoid about taking them off, but seems like you've done a good job of them whilst keeping them on, so i think i'd prefer going that route when i get the chance.

Why? They are held on with just 2 pins. It takes less than 2 minutes to remove them and you can do so much better job without any masking up or overpaint on pads and disc and clean/ paint all over the caliper.

Hang them on a bit of wire like a bent coathanger through the eye and it's easy to handle them
