just painted my brake calipers......

I'll be going black when I can be bothered doing it - purely because I have a half-tin of black hammerite smooth left over from painting my van wheels :)

I recall someone in the past added "BMW" lettering to their calipers - it's something I'm considering although might be OTT. Seem to remember it looking pretty neat before though.

I see my name mentioned a few times in this thread! Yes I painted mine red and I love how it looks. Never had any negative comments, always positive.

I am so tempted to do my 108's like that! Your car looks stunning. I might look into it when the weather picks up.

I'm so lusting after those AP racing brakes Beedub has.Crap brakes are the only thing I'd like to upgrade on my car,I've done the stereo,so brakes need seeing to.I like a nice crisp bite to the braking and a powerful stopping performance with little fade when I'd being silly.I like to brake late and hard ( rollover from biking I guess),so the std set up doesn't really cut it. I upgraded to EBC turbo groove discs and yellowstuff pads but still it's lacking.Looks like I need to spend spend spend....... :D

Looking good,,,,,,,,My warranty is up in the next couple weeks, so thats my first job ,paint the brake calipers,

By the way BMW warrantys seemingly dont cover condensation in lights , I say ,"its not the condesation thats the problem its the seal in the lights letting moist air in", service guy says ," has the light got a seal". I reply, Well , I dont know , Its quite a big light do think a seal would get in there". service guy says ,"What do you mean by a seal" I looked at him with my Victor Meldrew look , He says , " OK mr Mr G well get It sorted , ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,result, so I thought. They took the back of the light , stuck a hairdryer on an dryed it out , no new seal.
Any ways, got one of the guys from work to phone the parts department as a Mr C Lyons from Edinburgh zoo, I know its a disgrace waisting peoples time like that,,,, . The joke went down like a damp squid , Mr C lyons hasnt got a zed .

I painted mine while still under warranty. It was in getting the front fog changed and HVAs under warranty on friday and at the same time they done a condition report which measuring brake wear and didnt say anything about the calipers being painted.

I think it is only the AUC warranty that doesnt cover the condensation.

ElchTest - I was just thinking the same. I bought a tin of blue hammerite yesterday (it was on sale and only £1!) but I`m not sure. I was also thinking about doing the hubs blue.

I've heard that before... According to the general manager at the Renault dealer in Stirling a few years ago, "condensation isn't water" and hence condensation in my Clio's xenons wouldn't be covered under the original warranty 3-year warranty. Must be special condensation that affects Renaults then

That was final straw for me and Renault

I think for a blue car you would have to match the colour perfectly.

That said, I would love to see how it looks!

I painted my calipers in red last weekend and fitted new discs and pads at the same time

Not sure it needs to match R32 Golfs have bright blue calipers with metallic blue paintwork (similar to Montego Blue) and it looks fine .

thought about it for mine but decided to go with silver
