Just joined the club

Hello all! I just bought a 2003 Z4 with the 2.5L engine at the end of May this year. Looking forward to joining this community, what it has to offer, and hopefully add to it myself. I've already referenced a few threads in my research before and after I bought the car.

About me.
This is my first BMW, my first manual car, and my first sports car. For the past 20 years I've usually owned an automatic vehicle (my workhorse car and still do) and a motorcycle. I've been through 4 motorcycles and at the end of last year realized it was time for me to switch from 2 wheels to 4 wheels. To be honest, this car wasn't really on my radar when I started thinking about what to replace the bike with. The first two I thought about was a Miata and BRZ/FRS. Then thought about the 1-Series and the 1st gen Boxster. Finally landed on what I thought was a pretty good deal for the Z4 I ended up buying and so far no regrets!

About the car.
I live up in Canada and the car is American. I think the guy I bought it from, bought it from someone in New York. He bought it with 36,000 miles on it, put on 40,000 miles in the summer months only, did all the paperwork to register and drive it in Canada, and so I'm the 3rd owner now. The car seems to be in pretty decent condition, I don't see any oil stains or leaks in the engine bay, from a few quick glances under the car I didn't see any rust and so far it drives really nicely. It's not in perfect condition and so there are some things that I'm trying to get repaired (looking for parts), some I'll do myself and some I'll get my mechanic to do.

Cheers,
tropicalbob
