After driving for the weekend, they are growing on me a little. Drone around 2000-3000rpm still is annoying though - so much so that I'm having a hard time choosing between 2nd and 3rd gear at around 30-mph. Will probably try some sound deadening in the boot soon. Next best thing to a prancing horse with a Tubi... for now :wink:

Already tried soundproofing my Z4MR's trunk when I had the Eisenmanns and wanted to make the car quieter and less drony. On a small car like the Z4M where you're basically sitting on top of the rear wheels, soundproofing the trunk won't make a damn difference. Eventually I gave up and ended up going with the Remus on my Z4MC.
You can't make chicken soup out of chicken sh!t. If you want an exhaust that sounds more refined and is less drony, then buy an exhaust that's more refined and less drony instead of the RPI's which are essentially just more polished (and a lot more expensive) straight pipes.

Hey guys i am pretty muc about to buy the exhaust and the RPI scoop also. In the videos the sound of the exhaust is very raspy. but i know also that the videos arent great quality(youtube etc) so my question is: Is the sound a little deeper in real? or is it pretty much like in the vids?? thx for reply
i have never, ever ever heard a tone i call rasp from my rpi equipted car. its a very deep sound and is the absolute business!!! ga41 is correct for some reason the true tone is never picked up honestly by a video clip.
one thing i will say is its seriously loud, the noise is fabulous, at 7900 rpm on change up is the most glorious gatling gun bang, makes me smile every time!!

.Put a blanket in the boot - held just under the parcel shelf, coming down on the back wall and then forward on the floor until you get to the lip where the boot opens up into the main section (so basically this is soundproofing the area to the left of the battery a bit). It's not "proper" soundproofing but I've found it reduces the "drone" and noise ever so slightly - so much so that I'm very confortable with it 2/3 months in and love the sound.
Well got 400km now down with the exhaust and it has quiet down a bit.......To be serious i dont thinnk so but i've gone deaf because yesterday when i got out of the car my ears where beeping like after a rock concert. But now for each day that passes by i more and more love that noise. But i really think i will not have them long on my car. Cops on the bikes passed near me on the highway and they didnt take their eyes of me. Strange feeling
I'm gonna try some isulation on the trunck and back seats i'll give it a shot to stop the drone my fear is that i dont know if there are a lot of cables behind the seats and i'm scared that i could be to hot and with the heat the hole thing could burn....
