Just got rid of thoes 16's FINALLY! what do you think?

well lets be objective about this; while I admit to still having my stars (because they've never been a problem, no kerb damage despite me having swiped a double apex bend once or twice on the way home from work :oops: and I tend to sit inside the car most of the time) and looking to swap them out for 18s shortly, apart from the aesthetics issue, whats the deal with having standard-sized wheels, around which the car was designed?

I'm not aware of anyone having handling problems with 16s - in fact I suspect they make RFTs easier to live with - its just a customising fad isn't it? Or is it "mine's bigger then yours" again... :fuelfire:

I bet if I parked a Zed with non-standard 16s on it at a distance, you'd be hard-pressed to guess the wheel diameter to the nearest inch or two....

Having said that, I'm off shopping for wheels now, just thought I'd stir things up beforehand.... :D

I see your point, however the statement about keeping the wheels of which the car was designed doesnt make sense as the car comes with 16,17 & 18" alloys. Its purely down to proportion, i think the 16" rims dont do the car any favours what so ever, just look at the difference in the photos in this post.

As for the "mines bigger than yours" comment, its all down to personal preference and individuality, if you like your 16's, then keep em. And yes you would be able to see the difference with two Z4's, one with 16 inch alloys versus 18" alloys, the only way you wouldnt tell is if you were looking through thick fog. :poke:
