Just bought a 2004 2.5i - leather, roof and aux-in advice

I just spoiled myself and bought a 2004 2.5i manual :D . Got a very good deal on the car, only 56000km on the clock and except for a few small things in great condition. So excited to take delivery of the vehicle, what an amazing car! I have a few questions and was hoping you guys could point me in the right direction:

The beige leather is a bit worn and I would like to refurbish it, possibly dye it black. Can you recommend any decent DIY kits which I can order online?

The roof has a few bobbles, pictures are below. I have heard that it is possible to use a razor to cut them off. Is there anything I have to be careful about? Also, can you recommend any soft top protection/care kits?

Lastly, I want to install an Aux-in, I heard this is relatively easy. Can you recommend any DIY kits? I saw some pictures of an installation where the input was in the ashtray, really like this idea.

Welcome to the forum Tim182.
Answers to a lot of what you'll need to ask initially can be found either by thread search or the forum tab and relevant section.

Here's the AUX one for instance: http://www.z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=1483

hello and welcome

dyeing the leather sounds very drastic :!:

It is drastic but I think black seats with the black car and beige interior would look awesome.

I'd probably look at replacing the interior if it really offends you. Dyeing the interior could go very very wrong :o

Roof wise you could show it some tlc/roof treatment first and see if that helps. Maybe try a Remington Fuzzaway?! Or look into getting a replacement hood. Am guessing this isn't something easily done or cheap in SA though.

I wouldnt say that the interior offends me but black would have been nice. Unfortunately Z4s are very hard to find around here so didnt have much choice. I guess if dyeibg can go very wrong Ill keep the colour and give it some tlc and hopefully make it look like new again. Are there any specific products that work particularly well?

Wow, that is expensive. You could try some of this first on the roof Tim...

For the seats, I'm no expert so you my well be able to dye the seats easily; just a job I'd be particularly scared of doing.
Here's quite a good how-to...

And this could be the product you're looking for to actually dye the leather...

Hi and welcome.

I do agree with inkey, either change the interior or keep it.I'll go with the latter one, just give it a good clean and treat it with some good leather treatment stuff.

it's a nice looking car with good colour combination imo.
