How's it going everyone? Glad to be finally joining the Zed club. Picked up my 03 3.0 silver grey 41k Zed two weeks ago from Keighly. Took me about 3 hrs to get there from London but it was worth it as i had 4 hours of clear motorway fun in an awesome car on my way back. Haven't done much to it other than the sound generator mod. Removed the sponge closest to the cabin....it has led to slight drop in mpg now haha. There are only couple of minor issues with the car. The glove box handle is broken and cd changer is stuck. Planning on taking it to an independent bmw specialist to get few things done i.e. CDV mod and installing Dension Gateway 100. One specialist i have spoken to has quoted me 235 + vat for the work:

"The only CDV modification I have done before was on my wife's car (2005 X3). I have had plenty of people enquire about it but nobody has actually asked me to carry out the modification yet. On my wife's car we removed the inners of the valve and the clutch did feel more positive after it was done but I have also read articles on the net where people have had it removed and they did not really feel much difference.
As for the glove box handle, I would have to order that, it would come in to me the day after I order it.
With regard to your CD changer I can have a look at it, sometimes it is just the cassette jammed.
Your Iphone can be connected to the car using a Dension Ipod interface unit. This means that you disconnect the CD changer and plug the unit into the CD changer wiring and then put the Iphone connector in the glove box. we then have to tell the car, (using our diagnostic computer) that the CD changer has been replaced with an Ipod/phone which then enables the Ipod to be to be operated by the radio control buttons, so you don't have to fiddle about with your Ipod while you are driving. If you still want the CD changer to work you will need an optional cable to have the CD changer plugged in as well. http://www.dension.com/index.php?pageID=274 Please note there are cheaper solutions to this on the market but most do not charge the Ipod as well as play.

The cost of carrying out the modification to the clutch, replacing the glove box handle and supply and fit Dension Gateway 100 will be approx £235.00+vat"

What do you guys think of this? I was thinking of doing it all on my own but really don't have time at the moment. That's all for now. Looking forward to hearing from you all.

Welcome along :D

CDV mod is pretty quick - 10-15 mins...

CD changer access is a pain though so may take longer...

do a search on here dension, intravee etc discussed many times

Thanks everyone! Haven't taken any decent pics yet but here is a quick one I took today from my phone camera.

Not sure if it will fit on the zed but not really bothered to be honest as i like the 108s way better. Actually i am thinking of selling the spare set...if there are any takers
