Jump starting

is there a member local that could call over and give the owner a jump?

I'm not local but I'd be up for it if Carol is

Oh, you meant the car :D

In my experience jump leads won't carry sufficient current to start a diesel or a large petrol engine with a completely flat battery.

You have a ride on mower?

I used my dads ride on (12v) to jump start his diesel lump of a car one very frosty morning.

Worked 1st time. Connected it up and let the mower run on high revs for a few minutes.

Best lock this thread before we completely take the p*ss :D

What's to take the piss for? Someone having a flat battery?

Thought it was too good to last with you. :x

I'd pay good money just to come around and watch anyone try to push start an automatic.

"At what point do you let the clutch out? " ... Oh.
