Hi All,
Me again. Last Friday I finally got around to remving the swirls my Bmw Dealership put on when it was in for a service earlier this year.
The cars Solid Jet Black and looks stunning when clean but is a complete mare to look after.
A little back ground info after finding the swirls i got striaght on it and used 3M Extrafina on a Yellow pad via DA as i had just taken collection of the Festool (sold the Sim180) and didnt want to jump in with a new machine.
Well it looked great untill a few weeks later and all the marks had come back. Now i know this is my fault for not working the polish long enough but for me that wasnt great at all.
Anway it was time to pull out the old Rotary and polishes to sort it.
Masked up. On the Z4 i mask every gap and remask every panel. OTT maybe but its so hard to remove excess polish and dust.
Shinny toy...
Marring from cloth..
My poor baby!
I split the the door into 3 1 section at the top, and the main door split in half. I used a Green 3M pad (had used the Sonus Yellow Pad before) and Menzerna 3.02.
You would expect to struggle getting a good finsish with the Green Pad as its really hard but from past tests this is ideal. Also Finiah was checked with a Brinkman as Halogens arent harsh enough IMO.
Nice reflections, no prtection yet.
I then Glazed with Black Hole and finished with a Coat of Vintage.....
The panel needs another quick wipe as just to take the last residue off.
I was only planning on machining this panel and hand polishing the rest as they are nearly perfect but i might end up giving the whole car a little machine polish since i have the who winter to do it in.
Thanks for looking and that final photo doesnt do it justice. it really is a glass like finsh.
Thanks
PaulN
