JDM/E89 appreciation thread

Cracked alloys and a turbo air intake valve, but that's it. I consider mine trouble free too......

we're road testing your E89 in Kent tomorrow, so let's see if we can keep a clean sheet

The car has been reliable to date, as in it hasn't let me down, however it has been to the dealer more times than any other car I have had. My next visit, a week on Monday, is to have my front bumper replaced due to paint peal and have the drivers seat bottom replaced as the heating element has failed.

Mine is six months old and other than an intermittent water pump fault, which was replaced, no problems at all  :D

Thanks Jim.

Got the zed back on Saturday and guess what, they have f***ed it up AGAIN!!

Not a happy boy today.

Beyond a joke,

Can't you try another dealer John? I can vouch for Knights South Staffs.

Tim.

Tim,

Im at the end of my teather now..

I want a new car, not the one thats been butchered about by some incompetent dealer.

I dont think Im out of order wanting that considering people on here have had a replacement for a lot less trouble

Why don't you PM Carol and see if you can get some advice on how she went about it? Maybe time to consult a solicitor too, at least to firm up your options...

Perhaps see what BMW customer services say now you've got it back and it's still not right

Hi Stuart.

Thanks for your advice.

Carol has kindly PM'd me about how she went about it.

I am contacting BMW Financial Services today and will take it from there.

Quite understand John and yes I would be pushing for a replacement, its completely ridiciulous, end of the day its down to the dealer, you need them on side to negotiate with BMW, as Stuart advised, I'm sure Carol could advise and help.

I've only ever rejected a new car once, a Peugeot 207CC but the dealer was helpful and rejected the car on my behalf which helped.

Tim.

Thanks Tim.

On Carols advice I will speak with BMW Financial Services and see if they can lend a hand in my direction.

JDM Im sorry that it has reached this point not least (know this will sound daft) but the car is really super looking which can only add to the dissapointment , I completely agree that this point you should be given a new car its the only way forward

Mine has been fault free apart from dancing windows and a random (doesnt do it all the time) rattle which does bother me a bit but I have no confidence that dealer can fix / not cause damage so im living with it

Car will be paid for by end of year , now fairly certain that I will replace it with another e89 (was considering a used Aston v8) I am really considering
the samer interior colour as your current car

Thanks chasBMW. Glad your's has been trouble free. These cars are fantastic. I know that once I have one that works properly then I will fall in love with it all over again. :)

Yes the interior is rather special. It gets alot of positive comments.

Would thoroughly recommend it
