Breaking news from the geneva motor show.. BMW confirm no Z4M in an e89 guise .. That should shaw up the 35is prices. They are however thinking about a Z4M for the e89's successor!

I had given up already anyway and to be honest I could not see myself in an e89 anymore.

I think they already have! It's why it's now a cruiser...

+1.

When the lease is up on our e89, I'll be looking to see what they decided to do with the Z2. There will also be the ND MX-5 and the new car from Caterham.

America is a much larger market than the UK. BMW is also looking to the expanding market in the East. I read somewhere that BMW sells more 7 series cars in China than any other country.

Given BMWs usually cycle, in about another 3/4 years time... they've not even done a facelift yet. Time to turn to another brand??

facelift is no longer used, LCI is the modern terminology :D

I haven't seen any official announcements, spy shots or even credible rumours.
Previous Z's have been on a six-year cycle. Most other BMWs are on a seven-year cycle.

As far as I know BMW has not made any final decisions on future roadsters.

I've been reading reports from Geneva and haven't seen anything there. Most interesting thing to come out of Geneva is the possibility of a BMW / GM partnership.

I think the 35is is a pretty good M replacement anyway :fuelfire:

lol you're bad! I have to say, as a 35i owner, and given the only minor changes in the 35is, that its nowhere near as good at handling certainly. Even with adaptive suspension it either wobbles about at the edge, or skitters around on poor surfaces. Its not planted like the M is. But then I also like the comfort in the e89, and comfort isn't something I'd say about the previous Z4 I had.

If you want out and out fun, then M is the only way to go. For something a bit more gentle on you then the e89 is your baby.

im hoping the e89 will be less harsh than my previous 2.5i.... cos that was quite horrendous :(

Way more comfortable than my old e85 3.0i. But nowhere as much fun on the edge but then the e85 was £12K and my e89 £32K so there's some reluctance to throw it around madly!
