bloody hell, I just cannot get the idea of buying another car out of my mind. I have a 4 car garage with just two cars in. It's starting to be an obsessive itch that needs scratching.

I currently have the E89 3.0 Sport auto as my daily drive. I use my Fireblade at weekends to get through the weekend traffic, easy parking at the bank etc.

Therefore I don't need speed. I'm drawn to a 4 wheel drive (Jeep, X5, X6 are all possibles). Even used Ranger Rovers are cheap now :headbang:

Any experiences/thoughts on the above? - seems like a good time to do it (before the snow comes)

It's either this, or start a 'motorbike collection' :lol:
 
Well, I just replaced my old X5 with a new one. The power of the 40d and performance figures are almost identical to your Z so quite entertaining :D

Got a set of winter tyres for it as well, so it then really is a go-anywhere car ...
 
RR Sport? Old technology, slow performance, high fuel consumption and massive repair bills.

You can't compare a RR Sport with a full fat one.

The Full Fat one is a proper 4x4, whilst the X5 / RR Sport are utility vehicles whereby the RR Sport is a brick compared to the X series.
 
The RRS is based on the D3 and has the same terrain response system - so I didn't make a comparison with the full fat- the RRS has its own off road credentials.

The engines in the Xs are great but they just come close in terms of terrain response.
 
One of the car spots could be converted to a Man Cave Corner with some comfy chairs, fridge, bar, TV...pool table 8)

...though maybe that's all in the house that goes with such a hoooooj garage :D
 
i ran a VW touareg for 2 years . wife & teens loved it but made me realise that when it comes to cars i like to be "in"them not "on" them :(
felt like moving a small bungalow around even after remapping .
great feeling of security & go anywhereness but most 2 tonne + SUV's in all fairness can't perform like a sports car 8)
 
Try a Range Rover Sport Supercharged with adaptive suspension...it could take on a 3.0 Z4 in the straights and around a roundabout too!!
 
Ok, sounds like I need to rule in a Range Rover then. I guess with the new one coming out, prices of used ones will be dropping too.

X6 will have to be tried, just for my own sanity.

I will be looking buying diesel either way.

I like the RR but agree with PVR need to get a vogue. Quite like the evoque!

I like the X5, but dont think 4x4s are quite my thing and if they were it would be a v8 90.

good question, at the moment it's a small matter of car v kitchen. :roll:

I reckon no more than £30k, however realistically as a 3rd car, I might go for a FSH high ish miler and say a little cash.
 
Full Fat Rangey's are a little too over the top, unless its the 4.0 V8 Diesel...

Stick with a 3.6 TDV8 RRS. Like this one

Ah yes, the kitchen thing. Been there, done that :D

Hence me finally being allowed to spend kitchen level money on the man cave 8)
