Issue with AUX cable

Hi there. I have been doing a bit of searching and found the threads on DIY aux inputs. I have made up a cable and tried it this evening to find it does not work. I was wondering if the capacitors polaritys are the wrong way around. Is there any particular direction these need to be fitted in?

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but I have not really got any experience with this type of thing and am purely going on guides from the forum.

Thanks for any info.

Hi Jamestnewson, AFAIK polarity does not matter since audio signals are a type of alternating current. It seems the DIY cable just does not work for a few people, no idea why.

Tried again this evening to get the cable working after double checking the build against images etc. Also made sure I had the right capacitors and resistor etc, but still no joy. I'm guessing the Business CD, Cd changer and BT prep would not interfere with this as the connectors 3,4 and 10 are all free in block C.

Think I may just buy a cable, but I thought it might be nice to try and build one first. I'm all guessing that if I buy a cable I can just splice the BT prep cables into the block so they are all connected.

That's it exactly. Good luck!

Ended up ordering one of the cables from the same link as X-S-Z, http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/300941240982.

The guy I spoke to Rory was really helpful and seemed to know the ins and outs of the stereo systems pretty well to recommend what I needed.
