Isn’t this just great!? 😡

Car has been out back covered for 3 weeks to stave off the bits of tree and bird poop - and whilst I had an overseas trip. Came back, uncovered the car and found this … 🤬🤬🤬

Thanks neighbours! I have a security camera but it didn’t capture anything of note.

I’m guessing the split can be repaired and then a respray? Not a new bumper job??

If you think it was one of your neighbours that did it, could you not ask them?
It looks like it has been 'squashed' at very low speed. I'm sure whoever did would know they did it.

Business partners partner had to come home from working away in the week.
Someone broke into his home, couldn't find the key to his Merc., trashed the house inside then keyed the side of car parked on drive out of spite.

Ouch. :o

I hope you can get it repaired OP as a new bumper won't be cheap.

Of course I have no proof and so it could have been anybody … but the bit out the back is an access road to our garages/ back gardens only and we are the last house - there is no thoroughfare. I have asked whom I can - and got negative responses. Our immediate neighbour has been moving out and has had lots of cars and vans out back, and has been moving big bits of furniture. I don’t have any captured images on the security camera, and they are gone now, so whilst it’s probably them if it’s anyone it’s a moot point! :( I’m picking up my ZT-T after a full body respray this week so will ask the body shop for their estimate …. Hope it’s repairable.

Thats not great at all, I wish people were decent enough to just leave a note but these days its about self self self.

If its not repairable then off to eBay to find another one

That should be eminently repairable…the labour content will the highest factor…a new bumper will probably need a colour match respray anyway..

The body shop guy tells me (based on photos alone at this stage) that it looks repairable, and if so it should be around £350 or so … of course more if a new bumper needed.

I know it doesn’t show much but the car is (was) immaculate and - as I’m sure many here will understand - knowing that it’s there will be a constant irritation!

If it’s any consolation..the back of the bumper looks a mess anyway..the repair will only be seen if you take the bumper off..

A good shop should make it look as good as new..

They will need to check the mounts as it was quite a knock to crack it in that position.. I’m sure they will know what they are doing…

As you say still upsetting…

My body shop guy (based on just photos at this stage) says it should be repairable and if so it should cost around £350 (bumper repair and respray) - I'll be taking it next week so he can have a closer look (and I can collect my ZTT which is having some final work on the clear coat done! 8) )

When you mentioned ZTT I thought 'the only ZTT I've ever known of was a Rover with an MG badge'. I thought I must be wrong...but no!

Please don't tell me they are now a 'classic'... :poke:

I took the liberty of checking the MOT history (as you left the reg number available) and have to ask the question..........WHY? :poke: :D

Its certainly been through a lot: 260,000 miles almost and a "new" 80,000 mile KV6 engine and completely rebuilt and resprayed - its a Monogram Lagoon and relatively rare. I like it and that is all that really counts eh?! :D

Bumper all sorted - repaired and resprayed - luckily no damage underneath. Realised I had an exhaust tip missing - fallen off?? - a generic pair from Amazon have been ordered. The rear end will again be as new :)
