A long weekend in the Isle of Man just after TT fortnight.
A different style of trip, visiting what is described as the Motorsport Island of the world.
Famous for the TT races but home to many other motorsport events.
Mostly a pottering weekend with the opportunity to extend yourself and your car on the famous mountain circuit which is de-restricted (bit subject to other traffic).
I will be taking the ferry from Heysham to Douglas, other ferries go from Livepool. The Isle of Man Steam ‘Racket’ Company is the only operator.. https://www.steam-packet.com/
We’ve booked 4 rooms for the Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights in Douglas the capital for £350 per room at ‘Inglewood’ on the front.
There are various options to see most parts of what is a relatively small Island over two days, with a number of special stages’ for various events to be driven plus some very tourist activities like the mountain railway.
These are allocated on a first come, first served basis, however if you are not sure that you can commit please put yourself down as ‘interested’ rather than ‘definite’
Depending on numbers, anyone past the 4 room limit can book direct.
For logistics reasons this is restricted to 8 cars maximum.
Hotel prices and availability are much more challenging in 2023, and with folk’s budgets constrained, if you want to book cheaper / alternative accommodation please feel free.
