Is this some kind of sick joke??

I have an Alpina. So it must be worth 50% more for exclusivity (ahem) so I'll be asking £20k. I'll be selling tea and coffee to the undoubted queues that will form...

 let me know if you find more that one buyer

Well had to do it! Sent an email asking if it was a typo  response

Many thanks for your enquiry. Sorry not a typo - please check mileage, plus
hardtop and condition.

Never ever ceases to amaze me how many private sellers expect to achieve in excess on BMW approved dealer prices when the buyer has absolutely no redress or protection in a private sale

I'd have emailed the seller back to clarify their top specced car. So it includes - Sat Nav(with tv), Bluetooth, MFSW, Pro hifi, Folding mirrors, Cruise, Xenons?

Hmmmm. It looks to be in good nick, hard-top worth £1k, decent spec... And as the seller says, that is some very low mileage going on at 16k miles :o

I guess market rate would be a lot lower, so it seems ambitious... But a nice opening play, worth a punt at bargaining for someone who wants to buy it as a keeper. However the service history would need to check out if it's only been driven, what, just over 2k per year ? And there's no details that I saw. It does look good.

All that said, there are a few Ms on Autotrader at the moment for £14k or less and only 30-50k miles...

Parkers would value it at £6,985 with normal 70k mileage. Add £2,000 for the low mileage and £1,000 for the hardtop and you'd get a figure of £10k. That would seem much more sensible for a mint low mileage example. I don't think it would achieve that as in the current climate people expect a bargain, but that would be a good opener price.

I'd almost guarantee the service history is missing some elements. Can't imagine with the low mileage it's had at least 3 age related oil services and brake fluid changes plus at least one of those and inspection.

Oh dear....

Some people really do live in a world of their own.

How will we know if he sells it? Does it show as SOLD on PH?

Yes either just goes off and expires or sold via pistonheads, but you would have to be pssd to buy that lol!

Hehe, three years ago, maybe, at a push...

I saw similar spec stuff going in late 2008 for £10,000, right at the bottom of the dip in the market.
