Is This Part Of the Mirror Adhesive OR Mirror Holder / Frame

Hi,

I noticed that both wing mirrors were shaking a lot last week once i was over 80 km/h - i thought it was very strange that both would all of a sudden start shaking at the same time.

Yesterday, one of my colleagues picked up one of my mirrors (just the glass) off the ground, so i can only presume that it was the heat loosening the mirror adhesive which was then causing them to shake.

I plan on re-fitting the glass mirror (it didn't break :-) this evening but i've noticed that there is a small plastic layer on the actual mirror frame / holder.

The attached picture is not great, however i am not sure if i should remove this plastic layer, as i am not sure if it was part of the previous adhesive or if it is actually part for mirror frame / holder.

Can anyone confirm if i should remove it or not... i'll be sticking the mirror glass back on with double sided 3M sticky pads - thanks in advance for your help.

Just stick it back on top, if you try peeling it off you'll likely take off the heating element too.

P.S. thread on mirrors here which may be of help:

My drivers side is also wobbling at the moment.

I guess it is the heat!

I'll pull it off then reapply with good glue.
