Is this inline with BMW's recommendations

Looking at buying a Z4 and have found one but it does not have a full BMW history. I require the car to have been serviced to BMW's recommendations to avail of a warranty.

Can anyone confirm if this is ok

It's a March 2006 3.0l si - PDI done March 2006

Oil Service/Filter - 10/08 Mileage 7814

Approved Used Car Inspection - Date? Mileage 10700

Service inc Oil, Filter, Plugs - August 2010 Mileage 21620

Car now has 37000 on it and is due a service. I assume Inspection 2 but is everything up to now ok

*edit* seems i was wrong! - Sounds fine to me. Mines an 07 coupe 3.0si.

Had the pdi
Had an oil service
Had Insp 1

Now at 35k, and insp 2 is in 7k miles according to the obd
 
No, it's first oil service was 2 years and 7 months after the PDI which is enough to invalidate the BMW warranty.

I rejected my first ///M from a main dealer for this very reason back in September as the time between services was 2 years and 8 months. There is no way that the dealer would have taken the car back if this could be debated.

Regardless of mileage and oil service must be carried out every 2 years at least.
 
The first oil service was done at a BMW main dealer and the Approved Used car inspection after that. I thought as it was an Approved Used BMW at that stage when it was sold it would have to have been serviced up to that point to BMW recommendations.
 
Is it common then for BMW Dealers to sell cars as BMW Approved Used when they haven't been serviced correctly and how would this be covered under the approved used warranty as I believe all BMW warranties are now dealt with by Mondial?
 
BMW AUC means nothing in reality.

The dealer concerned was happy with the condition of the car and in their words "took the view" that all would be OK and were happy to sell.

They offered me two years warranty (worthless) and offered to pay the next service (Inspec 2) due in approx 2 years but in reality this tied me to the dealer and would have problems when selling the car on.

There are plenty of cars out there that have been serviced correctly.

If your looking at facelift 6 cylinder models then please ensure it has been serviced every 2 years max or by mileage as if you have an issue with the HVA's you have given BMW a easy get out.

That is indeed the bottom line. I had a BMW dealer try to scare me into buying approved used (even though I did - from another dealer - that was simply because it was the best example I'd found) but unless the car is within its original warranty period there's ultimately not much difference to buying from any other car dealer who bundles in one of those 3rd party warranties. I guess there is a little bit of peace of mind that a BMW dealer should be less likely to sell you a lemon for sake of their reputation.
