Is there anyway to get build spec of a z4 coupe with just the number plate??

Hi have looked online for this and it seems you need the VIN no, can you get vin no from just the reg? Am looking at a car in a dealers and wanted to find out the spec before I see it.

Some parts lookup sites will put the VIN in the address bar when you put the reg in, try that

As Taz mentions above start getting a warranty quote from BMW. Just enter the reg and on the next step it will tell you the vin.

Use the last 7 characters of the vin no to lookup the spec on a site such as bmwvin, there are various others I've found over the years. They all seem to work reliably.

That only works if the car is not currently covered by a BMW warranty.

If there is an existing warranty on the car, then it doesn't display the VIN.
