Is the right size bonnet badge ?

Hi

Before I order this badge, is it suitable and as it says it's 72mm will it fit without trimming ?

The OEM badge is 70mm, so you'll need to dremmel the edges of the underside as it will sit proud otherwise. You'll probably have to stick it on with silicone as well because the lugs on the back won't be long enough to get the screws on. PITA to find the right size, dealer may be best unless you're ok with some DIY.

I've been looking at too many old posts on the subject and thought 72mm was the oem size !

For £5 it's worth the gamble. Do the pins definitely not fit ? If not, I guess I can use clear silicone and make sure it's not visible around the badge before it dries.

The pins on the 72mm one are only 5-10mm long as it's actually for another car, not the Z4. The ones on the 70mm OEM badge are 20-25mm long from memory. You don't need too much silicone - a blob in the middle and some in the pin holes on the bonnet was enough for the first c/f one I had. That said, it makes it easier for scrotes to nick the badge - mine was stolen, so I replaced it with an aftermarket c/f one made from an original with the long pins, if that makes sense.
