Is the gm5 module a straight swap if I find the same part number?

If it wasn't from a Z4 then it would need coding to suit (I.e. using NCS Expert).

Easier/cheaper to get it repaired? Often just a bad connection/resistor. Few people do it, either in person, or via post. I've used a guy who's info I can dig out if needed.

Well I just didn't want to be without it. I found a guy on eBay that will do it for £30.

Not sure where you're based, but Colin is based in Berkshire - he did mine (and plenty of others on here) and offers a postal service too. Lovely guy, fair price, really know his stuff.
