Hi all-sounds a stupid question-but then again it is me
-i have been reading on this forum about removing the brake fluid cap before fitting new pads as the fluid will rise to make way for the thicker pads,if this did overflow would it strip the black paint off the servo or has BMW treated this area differently?-sorry i need to get out more!
You are right that if you have 'topped up' the fluid as pads have worn when you depress the piston back into the caliper the fluid will return to the reservoir and if you do not have an assistant watching or take care yourself the result is an overflow. I'ts not just the servo...if it runs off that what else does it contact?
