iPod connection: DICE or Denison Gateway??

Hi all
I'm looking to get something so that I can connect my iPod to my stereo. I have Prof Sat Nav so an Intravee would be the best option but its a bit pricey at £250. So next best options are either a DICE Silverline (~£100) or Denison Gateway 100 (~£150). Or is there anything else out there on the marlet??

Does anyone use any of these 2 that can give me some feedback on ease of use and functionality.

The main thing I'm looking for is the ability to view all my albums, artists, songs on the Sat Nav screen and the ability to select either using the stereo controls. I.e. dont want to have to take the iPod out of the glove box.

I also have a CD changer which I believe you can only use with the Denison. Is this correct??

Thanks for any advise!

Jay

Here's some info from my experience with both, but mostly the Dension:

Not sure who, but someone else on here was complaining about the DICE being slow. Although I believe others have had no issues.

I am only using this on the Business CD so I don't know 100% if it would work as quickly (or quicker) on the Nav. I can scroll through playlist, album, artist and track with titles displayed. This works from the MFSW too, once I've selected what I want to scroll through.

I can't recall if you can use the CD changer with the Dension? If no-one comes forward just download the user manual from the Dension web site. I would be inclined to do that anyway just to check the functionality on the nav unit.

One thing to be aware of, if you have DSP you will need additional modules for both the Dension and DICE. Personally, I think the Dension solution is brilliant but, if I was in your position, I would buy the Intravee. Even if it meant waiting a while.

I have Prof Nav with DICE (was in the car when i bought it) and whilst it does the job, its not very reliable

1)It often doesnt recognise my iphone, meaning i need to unplug/plug back in
2)Its fidley and primative to configure - having to do it via a series of button combos on the stereo
3)The track names often get confused when scrolling through
4)Its slow to scroll and often doesnt scroll through track names
5)interferance - maybe just mine (i need to investigate)
6)not all lines of text in the available area is used to display info (resolved with the Intravee)
7)It takes over the nav screen!

IMHO - Avoid and get the intravee

i have the Dension gareway 300

Yes you do loose the use of your multi changer as the Dension uses that connection, it has to 1 CD left in the changer for the Dension to work!!

You can only select albums or artists aphabetically, or scroll through any artists or albums you have selected, the obvious is to set your songs or albums into favourates in itunes, as they are selectable by pressing 1 on the stereo and scrolling through, and yes you can do that on your mfsw

The Dension works well enough, and is quick, but it has it limits.

hi there,

i am looking into this too but have to questions:

1. will it charge the iphone 3G
2. Will i be able to play internal radio using the iphone app thru the business unit as i understand using the intravee means you lose control of the iphone when connected.

i have the loudspeaker system with Nav.

cheers

John
