The blue one connected to the intravee so I wouldn't worry about that one two much at the minute.
The black one for the iPod is 2M long so wont get too far unless they have put an extension on it. THe other end has to be in a limited number of locations such a glove box, rear centre console. Rear seat storage boxes if yo h ave them or maybe even under a seat. Looking how it's been installed any of those locations could be possible.
Cheers
Will have a good look later.
I have had a better look tonight and both wires come into the car via the larger speaker behind the passenger seat.
The blue goes to the Intravee which is located in the same speaker behind the drivers seat.
The black wire has the iphone connector end but has an extension lead connected by a male to female connector and this disappears to somewhere else in the car.
Have pushed and pulled (carefully) all wires I could see I worked out that the black wire does go to the phone cradle in the drop down panel.
I got the cradle out and the wire does go in the back which is obviously non standard and is to make it possible to interface the iphone from the cradle.
With all wires visible, I tried the connection again and it recognised the interface and displayed the song being played but the sound was distorted.
The extension lead for some reason had a male to female connector which is not needed so I removed and connected the two leads together and guess what - it works - music interface from the charging cradle.

It appears the issue was a loose connection at the extension lead so an easy but time consuming fix.
However, the battery went flat so I didn't get to try it for long.
Hope this is not a separate problem. I left the drop down panel open last night and noticed that the sat nav was flashing when the ignition was not on and the courtesy light in there was also on. May be this has drained the battery?? Any ideas?
