iPhone 6S Video Problem

Really disappointed with the quality after shooting in 1080p 60fps, can anybody suggest why this may be happening? (Look out for a strange phenomena at about 12 seconds). I have a case on the phone but the camera lens is not obstructed. And the mount in the car seems stable enough, didn't have this problem with a 4s or Zi8.

Looks like a mix of focus and frame rate, Mark - what app are you using, the native iPhone video? There are others on the iPhone store which may be better, but it might be a limitation of the phone (although i have a 6S and am not seeing any issues).
 
Are you using it for recording video, or as a dashcam (so it includes GPS and other info)?
 
MoviePro gets good reviews - have downloaded it recently to test, but not tried in the car as yet.
 
I've bought Movie Pro but it doesn't help, the 6S seems to focus on the dirt on the windscreen rather than the objects far away, does that make any sense at all?
 
Does the same issue occur on 30fps?

Have you tried restoring the phone with itunes (ruling out an underlying issue)?
 
Just tried TripREC today on my iPhone 6S, works great at recording video and GPS data. No problem with focus thrugh the windscreen either - not sure why yours ism't working well, Mark ? Is it normally OK for video and photos? :?
 
Yeah always been fine before this 6S, recorded 720p60 fine with the Zi8, and 1080p30 fine with the 4S :( Not having any problems with taking photos so that would indicate the lens is OK. Restoring the phone didn't seem to make any difference, hate it when this sort of thing happens as I can't let it go until it's fixed, like a dog with a bone :)
 
I'm away at the moment, but later in the week I'll record and post a video with my iPhone 6S and TripREC, see if there is any blurring of focus. Just for comparison, I'll be using this mount, rather than the usual belkin.

Give Apple a ring. Get it noted on file and then get them to make a reservation to get it swapped out.

Mark - I recorded a video (set to low quality) with a cheap mount this morning (to make it as difficult as possible to keep the focus) using TripREC on autofocus with the iPhone 6s.

Apart from the bouncing around and quality, the focus held. At least it did until the rain started, unfortunately after I finished recording. The autofocus locked onto the raindrops on the windscreen eventually - you can see it in this photo I took

I switched over to the fixed focus (a setting on TripREC) and it looked like the recording kept focus on the road. If you want, I'll record again using a better mount, higher quality and on fixed focus, to see the difference?
 
OK, this one is recorded using TripREC at high quality with auto-focus switched off, and using a Belkin mount. There was a lot of footage beforehand, all at 30/40/50 mph speeds, and there was no evidence of blurring (so I haven't uploaded that). When I reached the 60 limit, there seemed to be some blurring, especially when the car "bounced" on the uneven road surface (look around 54s at the oncoming car headlights) - there were more bounces earlier but at lower speeds, and no blurring. So it seems to be a combination of speed and camera "bounce" causing the camera to lose focus and/or pixelate?

It's all very annoying, tried my wife's 6s plus and that has the same issue, obviously due to the new technology. My mount seems a bit wobbly so will try another mount and also try my zi8 in the existing mount and see what happens
 
I trust you removed the plastic from the lens … My daughter left hers on and was complaining :)
