iPhone 6 curved screen design

IMO, I doubt you'll see a phone launched with a convex screen (like the one in the picture), AIUI, curved screens are perceived to be more 'usable' if they are concave rather than convex, i.e. they curve inwards rather than outwards so the left/right edges are closer to the user than the centre. Convex screens are likely to suffer from visual artifacts towards the edges.Jembo said:

I follow the MacRumors website and it hasn't been picked up on that, so suspect its just a mock up spoof.
There was talk (as noted above) of flexible screens and I think it was rumoured the the so-called iWatch could use a wrap-around screen, but not seen this before.
Basically, never believe what products Apple will release until they officially announce them. so many rumors and bullshit it actually ruins it for me (although I still go to the rumors sites!).

Hmmm. Not sure I like it - the whole-screen front is interesting, but I think the convex surface would prove quite difficult to use. Concave on the other hand would work, but look very weird. I think this is just another variation on what is now very much a commodity theme... Agree that the flexible screen technology that is now being talked about is proper innovation that will change the game again because when the technology becomes cheap enough the possibilities for embedding comms and interactive technology in just about anything will be endless.
That render or versions like it have been knocking around for a while. They have been having trouble manufacturing the curvature from rumours apparently.

Its been well publicised that images of the internals of the back of the new phone where leaked over twitter by several Chinese manufacturing suppliers. I think its almost identical on the outside, but with different updated internals.
Also it rumoured that there will be a iPhone Mini (with less features) as well to compete with samsung who have various models in various sizes of phone on sale, where as Apple only has the current iphone5 and older versions of the iPhone. Also the new iphone's will come in lots of colour choices not just Black & White

The current rumours are the 5S in black, white and champagne/gold, and a cheaper model, 5c in multi colours, but plastic.
