Iphone 5 connection

Hey guys. just bought my first BMW and went for the 2003/2004 Z4. 2.5 6 cylinder.

amazing piece of machinery…..

it came with an after market DICE box to plug an iPhone in to. however it won't pick up my i phone 5, I've had a little look at the products and it seems there not compatible, seems sill but never mind,

any ways i really want to get my iPhone hooked up so am going to have to upgrade the box but before i start following the lead back and ripping the interior apart i wondered if any one new where it may be and what its going to entail to get to it. or if there are any other solutions?

obviously the old lead was the 32 pin connector and I've tried just putting the iPhone 5 connector on that but had no luck.

It could be behind the carpet in the boot against the firewall.

Two common places:
1) rear bulkhead as mentioned
2) transmission tunnel up near the ashtray.

Have you traced the iPod lead back?

When connecting your iPhone 5 to the lead, did you use an proper apple converter or an eBay one? IIRC there are issues with the cheaper ones.

ill start looking. i haven't traced it back yet. I've saw it drops under the centre console but wanted a heads up from anyone on here before i started taking it apart.

i tried using a apple connector, but i also tried plugging my mates i phone 4 in and it won't read that. its starts charging then drops out. kinda strange!
