Intravee not charging my iPod + popping sounds through speakers

Not sure what's going on here. I've never had the intravee setup before but it seems very odd to me that it's not charging my iPod. I would have thought it would do this.

Also, every now and then, when I start the car there are a few popping sounds that come through the speakers very soon after the car starts. I've heard his could be down to a grounding issue?

I'm no expert but I'm thinking these two issues may be connected? Although not sure.

Help please!? Thanks all.

Not heard of this setup before only ever Intravee/Alpine which does charge iPod's.

What iPod have you got and can you provide anymore info on the dynavin side.

Edit, I presume the Dynavin is a replacement headunit so assume you still have the alpine unit.

Shouldn't be an issue charging. what connector does the iPod have?

Sorry ignore the dynavin totally. I meant to say alpine.

It's the nano gen 4 which has a 30 pin connection.

I have the factory Navi setup FYI.

It's possible the Alpine unit has been modded and cocked up. Do you have another iPod/iPhone you could test with?

Have you got the voltage converter attached?

I do. But I do know for a fact that the iPod that is currently connect definitely works and has zero issues.

Don't see this attached. All I have is the usual 30 pin output that you see on a normal Usb charging lead. Never actually heard of one of these.

The previous owner didn't mention any need of this and he had been using it, I assume with no issues. He seemed an honest guy.

My iPod touch (2nd or 3rd gen) needed one of these to charge it.

Only to enable charging from flat though, if the iPod is not flat it would charge fine without it. That was my setup.

The nano gen 4 would need a voltage adapter.

Thanks to apple removing the firewire charging on the 30pin adapter.
