Intravee installation

Sorry, I have searched but not much came up.

My Alpine KCA-420i has arrived and I'm just waiting for the intravee.
Does anyone have a nice dummies guide to installing the intravee to a 2006 Z4MC with satnav?
Pics would be great.

Thanks
Gareth

basically get the boot carpet out, which you can search on, then plug the intravee into the kac420 and it then needs to plug in where the changer should go.

This is the tricky bit, but if you go into the back of the boot there's a hole through, and you'll need to either fish around for two cables or remove them from the back of your changer.

plug it into the kca420 and robert's your uncle's brother.

then up to you where you mount it all on the back firewall. Realistically, expect it to take an hour and a half or so to be tidy.

Ah, I've perhaps jumped the gun here...I don't have a changer... :o
Only the satnav thing in my center consolde (between the seats)

Same as me then, the cables are taped to the centre console if you don't have a changer fitted. All UK cars have these cables.

Yep.. even easier if you dont have one. I'm scrabbing around on the boot of mine as we speak.

Best thing to suggest is have a go !

Ah cool.
One last Q. Would these cables currently be on view from inside the car or would they be hidden from sight and not visable until you starting taking the carpet away etc.? I just had a look, cant see anything.

Cheers
G

Yeah, I couldn't get a Halfrauds bargain either. Tried two different branches and both said it was a mistake.
Got one on ebay used - hope the fecking thing works! £40.
New they're £95...
No alternative to buying the intravee new for £145

OK, on a quick look I've hit a few problems. Managed to get the boot lining out but:

Can't find the cables

and

How do you feed all the cables (ones from KCA to the intravee) into the cabin? I've managed to get the tray from the center console forward but it's too wide to completely remove from inside the car.

This is what I'm looking at anyway

Digging this one up from the archives... I have nav/DVD but no CD changer and I'm trying to install the intravee. I can pull out the cubby hole at the bottom of the centre console but it is too wide to remove completely. From what I understand I have to get in there somehow to retrieve the pre-wired connection for the CD changer. Is that correct? I've had a good search and this post was the closest I could find.

Remove the surround of the centre console (back part). You can hinge it forward and remove the storage bin, the cables are stuck to the floor underneath it.

And just pray they are longer then Raify's :D
