Looked at ur ad...got a couple of questions.
What spec hifi, etc did ur car have,and....
Do u know if these are compatible with a 2008 spec BMW Prof.Satnav with the Logic7/DSP hifi setup,as thats what mine has?? I dont have the cd changer ftd in mine, but am i right in saying this unit plugs into the connector at the back of the in-dash stereo /head unit, where the cd changer would plug into??

Do u still have the instruction manual?
Also, how much are you looking for it,given its currently at £53(tho with 2days to go)?,as i am keen to buy this from u now,if i can verify it is compatible with the dsp hifi and prof nav setup.

Cheers

I'm really sorry but I couldn't confirm or deny any of the compatibility with DSP etc. I bought it originally by recommendation from people on this forum. Maybe you could ask the question on the other board? I can tell you that it works perfectly with the business single cd head unit that I have. I would imagine that if you have the cd changer with the correct connections it would work, as it uses that interface. Given that they sell for £250 new and it is in perfect order (I'm only selling as it wont fit the 1 series) I hope it would fetch in or around the £200 mark. Maybe I'm dreaming, but we'll see. I have a copy of the manual on PDF plus latest firmware and update software etc. Sorry I can't help any more.

Thanks Ranski...u have the prof satnav and dsp hifi in yours?
Do u have the same kit in urs;and if so,does this just plug into the plug at the rear of the head unit/single disc cd player...and anywhere else,i.e does it have any cables that need to go to the dsp amp?
I ask this, because my previous z4/a 2005 3.0i/had no Satnav, but did have the Carver dsp, which was digital, and i had the BMW i-pod kit, which needed a cable to the DIGITAL DSP AMP.
However this wasnt compatible with my newer dsp logic7 setup in my 08 M Z4,As the dsp amp was Analogue!!(so didnt have a dsp signal lead input, which my bmw i-pod kit needed).

Can any1 else confirm if a standard intravee2 and alpine unit are ok with my current setup??
Cheers

As for £..have been keeping an eye on these for a while, and seen them go seperately for as little as £40 each..UPTO THE 120-140 MARK FOR BOTH......so was hoping to pay around £80 for both.
Will keep an eye on it on ebay :D

Craig, I have Nav and DSP and this will work fine. It's the pre facelifts that have the issue.

You will be lucky if you can get both for £150 most seem to go for nearer £200.

Alpine units are sometimes cheap, but don't forget you will need the leads and those aren't cheap.

Minimum £150 indeed I would say. Most as Srhutch said are around the £200 mark.

Best solution for iPod

Agreed and haven't forgot the help you gave me PVR when I got mine.

Thanks for the info srhutch/pvr.

Have seen these go for around £120 for both on ebay before, tho missed out/was outbid by a cpl quid, lol :headbang:
Think i would buy brand new if it went to near the £200 mark,as can buy both new for £240..so would expect 2nd hand to be around half that anyway?

Thanks again for clarifying it will work with my dsp hifi and prof satnav, cheers guys
How many connections do these units have between them, and the stereo, etc??

Problem is Craig they hold their value. You can bet your bottom dollar the person that one the auction @ £120 would go a lot higher.

Playalistic put his up on here a couple of weeks ago for £150 and it went the same day.

It will work fine with your setup, you will loose the cd changer though.
You need to unplug the cd changer by accessing it through the boot wall, plug that into the intravee (or apline unit, I can't remember) You can then tuck the two new units behind the carpet in the boot and feed the ipod connection through to where you want. I managed to squeeze mine through to the central cubby hole by going under the satnav dvd drive, no extra holes needed.

I agree, £150-200 is the usual price for the pair.
I paid £100ish for the intravee, from this forum, got the apline unit for about £45 on ebay, with cables but it was one of the cheaper ones at the time.

If you don't have the cd changer, check you have the pre-wiring and can locate it on the rear bulkhead. The Intravee connects to both the iBus and audio connections that would normally plug into the rear of the changer. As the maker of the Intravee recently passed away these are going to get harder to find. I'd snap it up

There are loads of new Intravee's still available - I spoke to the owner of toysinyourcar and he has over 500 in stock - He also said more can be made/ordered

They can make them, but they'll need to secure the manufacturing rights from his estate. Until that's done, when they're gone they're gone.

I can't see 500+ units being sold that quickly, well unless other BMW forums have the same thread and hysteria (or shares in toysinyourcar)

I think the real problem is the support and development of the intravee, infact im sure this will even stop a % of people buying the device

Either way I don’t see getting hold of old or new intravees an issue for the next few years - by then they will be obsolete as new cars come with alike intravee features and much more...

All UK cars are pre wired for CD changer so no issues there.
