interrior and leather cleaner

Ive been reading about on detailing forums etc about getting some nice stuff to clean the car. in particular the leather and interior dash.

autoglym leather cleaner+ treatment seems a safe bet but thats just cos i know of autoglym.

poorboys stuff seems to get a good rep for wheel sealer when used with the bilbury juice cleaner.

what cant figure out tho is with their vynal cleaner. it says its ok for leather so if i get this do i need to bother with a specific leather treatment as well? is it just a case that its ok and will do the job but i would be better to get say the specific poorboys leather jobbie or auto glym one.
 
I have autoglym vinyl and rubber care stuff, which is what i think your referring to, and i wouldn't be putting that on my leather! Its just horrible greasy stuff and make your leather look shiny.

I use Zymol Leather Cleaner which im pretty sure is available from halfords and just keep my leather CLEAN with that, as that is all modern car leather needs, it doesnt require any special "nourishing oils" treatments slapping on as the leather is coated and these treatments cant penetrate into the actual leather underneath.

Keeping your leather clean will reduce dirt ingress and premature wear to keep your upholstery looking fresh.
 
Zaino is best IMO, the conditionner even gives the whole interior a truly authentic new leather interior smell :D

You won't slide around in the seats and the cleaner doesn't have any harsh chemicals to potentially create collateral long term damages.
 
yeah i phoned a guy who and he explained a few things. my confusion is that the poor boys natural look is a dressing product not a cleaning one. so you could use it on the seats if you wanted a quick spruce up. if you wanted to clean/treat then use the auto glym stuff (yellow+gold lable)or the poorboys leather stuff or any i guess.

might just use a light soapy warm water first on the interior platics esp around the top of the doors and the roll hoops; i have that light (not cream though) beige interior and it just looks dirty like a black soot almost. then do it over with something that will treat/protect a bit.

for the seats going to use the autoglym as it gets very positive reviews all over.

wheels im going to get bilbury cleaner and poorbuys wheel sealant and a decent brush.
 
I used warm lightly soapy water on the plastics followed by poor boys natural look trim gel which looks superb.

Leather wise I like Dr leather wipes, £10 for a pack of 40 and they are superb and leave a v nice matte finish
 
I've been using Johnsons Baby wipes to clean the interior, including the seats. The wife has used them for years on our sofa's and has worked floorlessly, so I think they should be fine for the car.
