Anybody got preferences on how-to? Cocktail sticks, sable brushes, tcut etc? Got a stone chip I want to eradicate.

Also - Interlagos paint kit. Halfords (apparently good) or OEM?

Cheers.

For the little extra get OEM. I bought a Halfords Alpine White for my 1 series, it was miles out. I could tell without even trying luckily.

I have a few chips to do so will be filling with brush then wet sanding and polishing.

Good to know.

Have you had a looked at

Or

I have the paints4u one but am still yet to use it. Seemed to get good reviews on DW.

I want to wet sand and machine polish. Waiting for better weather and me to gain some confidence before a take my rotary polisher out.

Was it an off the shelf paint ? Halfords can mix paint but the quality obviously depends on the attention of the person mixing it. If it is mixed correctly it should be a very good match.

Off the help touch up. Car was brand new so no paint fade or anything. Just think for slight difference in cost on touch up best to go oem.

Not sure about the Paints4U kit. 2000 grit is really rough on paintwork and will take a LOT of polishing to fix. If wet sanding, thats the grit to start at, then go up to 3000 followed by 4000. Also, Farecla G3 isn't great in my opinion - I have tried it. If you want to do this properly, you need to be looking at a proper polish using a rotary or dual action polisher with proper pads and polishes. Its expensive though if you have to buy all the kit, but you can then do the whole car.

Totally agree that it can be worth the extra. I used to work in Halfords and mix paint I would always check the colour against the car if the customer was in it to ensure a good match. Like I said it depends who mixes it.

Ive had one colour mixed up by halfords and they did an excellent job. Barbados green is a very unusual dark bluey green, but once dried the match was perfect, I was very impressed.
