Has anyone ordered and installed the Interior Xenon Lighting Kit for Z4? Is it worth it? Has anyone experienced any electrical problems?

Not fitted this set to my wife's Z4, but fitted a similar one to my M3 and it does produce a much nicer, whiter light. It was to me such an improvement. I am thinking about doing the Z4 as well, but it hardly ever gets driven at night and might be just a waste.

I was thinking the same thing...that is, I rarely drive the Z4 at night. However, I'm getting bored during the winter doldrums so I'm looking to do some easy mods on the Z4 to keep me occupied. The Z4 kit was $40 plus $8 shipping from bimmian.com. Thanks for your input.

got a link to what you were thinking of? id like a little more info

Here was the original link...http://www.modbargains.com/product.aspx?pf_id=bimmian86. However, I found it cheaper here...http://www.bimmian.com/Z4. Let me know what you think.

Yeah I've been on the fence for ordering those lights off bimmian for a while now. I'll probably do it sometime as the blue glow IMO would look nice.

The yellow/orange glow of the OEM lights are somewhat drab & dreary. I'm not too fond of the color of the instrument panel lights and stereo either, but I guess there is nothing we can do about that.

Well, the kit arrived and I was able to install the bulbs in the glove box, trunk, license plate and BMW side turn signals. I was not able to change the 2 bulbs in the center storage unit between the seats as the light covers are difficult to get to. Most importantly, I was not able to change the overhead lights as those bulbs are the capsule fuselike bulbs rather than the peanut bulbs that came in the kit. So now I will have to search online for the correct bulbs.

I noticed that my Z4 is missing 2 lights. There are open spaces for the lights but were not wired under the driver and passenger dash. I find that strange. Oh well, just as it should not have been a big deal to have done in the first place, it's not a big deal now so I'll live without them. I just want the correct bulbs for the overhead lights.

Hardly ever gets driven at night?! I find that can be one of the most pleasant times to drop the top....

Once summer time hits here, that is about the only time i'll drop the top. Topless in anything above 90 degrees F makes you sweat bullets

Would those drunken youths be female? Cause when you throw in that expectorate word it gives me a tingly feeling :P

But yeah I know what you mean. The flip side of that for me, is that thanks to Vegas being 24/7 pretty much any time of the day here you have to watch for drunk or high people waiting, watching, driving around.

UPDATE: I just received the 2 bulbs for the interior overhead lighting unit. I'll install it tonight when I get home from work and try to take and post some pics of the final results.

I completed the installation of the Interior Xenon Light kit and must say that the cool blue light is brighter and more refreshing than the dull, dim and yellowish light that the OEM bulbs emit! I definitely recommend this kit. Sorry for the poor picture quality.

But that's when all the hot women are out on the prowl!!!...oh wait, married guy talk :poke:

I just received my kit yesterday and spent 20 minutes installing it and all I can say is....WOW! WOW! WOW! What a difference! The car looks so much classier and sexier from the interior! This is by far one of the cheapest a best DIY upgrades you can do!

BTW, all my lights were the peanut style.

Same here, all peanuts. Light is soooo much better than before. I don't have any good pics to show ya'll though

This is the most significant mod I've made other than the Aux Input. I'd like to change my headlights and fogs to xenon-like bulbs next.
