My interior light is staying on for quite a long time after I lock the car. Like 10mins!
Only had the car a couple of weeks and only just noticed it when it was parked right in front of my window at the weekend.

I tried going into car, turning it off manually, which worked. I shut the door, light remained off then once I pressed lock button on comes the light and doesn't go off for 10mins!

Any reason for this? There is no option for how long lights stay on in the menus like there is on my newer beemer :?
 
I noticed the same but haven't thought of getting it reprogrammed because it's such a small battery drain. If you drive every 2 -3 days for several miles no problem. It's going for 100 miles on one day and then parking for weeks that drains the battery. After about 10 days even the unlocking receiver shuts down to save battery so you have to use key :o
 
It's possible the timer value got corrupted. It can be changed to a few values by DIS, there's no way to do it in the car alone. None of the options are that long though, I'm just hoping changing it to anything else will eradicate the problem.
 
I got curious and timed our 08 Z4 interior lights after closing door. They start to dim after only 20 seconds, same for locking. This is hugely different than 10 minutes so the original poster has something unusual going on - maybe part of a non-OEM alarm system ?
 
Sounds like I will have to take it to stealer to set the options like I've read they can do. That is if it bothers me that much.

I might just replace bulb with led if that's possible then no chance of draining battery.

Anyone know if the intravee gives ability to set such options?
As I've got one I just need to fit it
