Just watched this and found it interesting, Skoda Yeti fitted with winter tyres front wheel drive vs the same model but 4x4 and without winter tyres.
Excepting the obvious traction advantage from standstill, the winter tyre shod yeti out performs the 4x4 variant completely, with the brake test being the most convincing reason for fitting winter tyres I have seen
