insuring multiple motorcycles

Hi, I'm looking to purchase a second motorbike in the next few weeks. Is it possible to arrange insurance whereby both are covered under one policy for fire and theft, but only one is ridden at any one time so its covered fully comp?

I don't need them both fully comp all the time, since only one can be ridden at a time. I'm probably being optimistic, but hope there is something that might suit.

Does anyone have 2 or more bikes - and how best do you insure them?

Thx.

Just google multibike insurance. Most of the big bike brokers do multi bike policies - Bennetts, Carole Nash...

Yes. Should be fairly easy to arrange. I had both the Ducati and MV on comp with the gsxr on tpf&t through CIA insurance. Carole Nash also do a similar policy.

Thanks folks. I guess I'm just looking to avoid insuring both 'full time-fully comp' if they won't ever both be on the road at once. I'll have a chat with a few brokers to see what's possible.

Bennetts: "policy works on the understanding that you can only ride one bike at a time regardless of how many machines you have hidden away. From there it is a simple common sense equation, that you are insured for the bike you are riding whilst your other bikes sit at home covered against fire, accidental damage and theft. With all your bikes covered on one policy the savings can then be passed on to you"

Sounds like what you are looking for? :)

Great. - I'm with Bennetts!

I will look at the details. I have to admit that I though I was chancing my arm on this, but it sounds like I should have done some research.

- just too lazy I guess and decided to do this enquiry while sitting on the train.

Thanks all!!
