Hi,

Got a quandry, my insurance runs out in a few days, so was wondering what to do. I presume I need to have car insured even if sitting in garage over the 'bad months'. Any thoughts?

Furthermore, I was with hagerty insurance, who provided limited mileage cover, for £450 for up to 5K. They no longer do that for cars under 10K.

I've not had an accident for well over a year, and only 2 claims in the last 3-4 years. No points on the license as well :)

Any suggestions of good companies? Just did a compare the market and got ridiculous quotes over 1K

Steve

my search on gocompare.com got back 490 pounds from elephant

when i phoned them, they offered me a multi-car policy for when the insurance on my first car (astra coupe) ran out in march..... they lowered the price of my insurance to 390 as long as i renewed the astra policy with them for an extra 220 pounds when it ran out

i'm 34 with 8 years no claims.... hope that helps

Lol, i wish it helped, if i had 8 years no claims, i drive a company car and had 3 accidents in last 4 years, 2 my fault and 1 someone elses.

So 1 years bonus max for me. Sorry mate, thanks for advice, but it doesnt reflect my question :)

You dont have to insure your car if its parked up and not used but then someone could still come along and steal it. My Mk1 Mr2 hasnt been insured or taxed for nearly 2 years now.

You have the same problem i did, i was 25 with 3 points, 2 claims and 0 NCD when i got my Z4. Insurance will be expensive and theres not much you can do, on average insurance premiums have gone up across the board this year anyway, i found elephant/admiral to be the cheapest as everyone else wanted a claim free driver.

Job Done :)

Classiclineinsurance, classify the car as a future classic :)

Limited Mileage - 5K - Coverage for Europe too :) Track Days through BMW Owners Club (i didnt do 1 last year, so not fussed)

£480 :) ohhhh and they give me no claims bonus too :)

Result, office is based near me aswell, should of tried them myself as ive just renewed on teh 350Z, will have to try them myself next time i renew although i plan to have another car by then.

Really friendly too, happy days. Everywhere else that didn't offer future classics was £1800.

Look at my signature mate, no increase in performance though which is the key factor.

Remus exhaust is only catback.

The max mileage they cover is 5k which is all I would do as it's my second car.

Can you mention steve Perkins recommended them as they said they could reduce my premium next year if I recommend people. Lol worth a try! Thanks mate.

Let me know how you get on too!

I thought this had the look af a plug/advert to be honest.

From the sounds of it you need to get a grip of yourself as well, I mean, 3 accidents in 4 years!!! :o I'd be getting some training. :!:

I do 30k a year in my company car, all over the uk, 2 accidents my fault, 1 someone else's. Last accident nearly 2 years ago.

Pipe and smoke it! kiss x

Looks like I might be using ClassicLine Insurance, coming up the cheapest so far by some margin. Just need to check the policy docs first when I get them.
