Hi

Just wanted to share with you all, how much of a twat I am. I have only just got a ZED after many years and was stupid enough to not remember, that No claims can only be used on one car! I also own an X-Type which is my family car! I was shocked last night that either my Jag or ZED would have to be on 0 no claims which as you can imagine was a scary thought and price!

Anyway all I can say is contact Swift. I explained the situation and they have insured both cars, fully comp, Business use, mirrored NCD, protected NCD for £548.75... All I can say is amazing.... I was getting quotes of £1300+ when 0 NCD was applied. Give these guys a try, they seem to be the cheapest by far...

Although not sure about cover when the Mods start, but it appears from here that some are with Swift and are modified!

Are Swift the ones that had/have T&Cs which state they may use 'pattern and 2nd hand parts'

Won't matter if you never have to claim though

Also I think swift won't give you a ncb bonus for that year if you make a windscreen claim.

Hi,

Some mirror NCD between cars on a multicar policy and others don't (Avviva and Direct Line don't, Or should I say they "load" the premium so much that you would'n't think they had) - But then there's the likes of Adrian Flux that will mirror a big proportion of your main policies NCD even though the main policy is not with them, They are a law unto themselves, and the only real way to find out what is possible is to talk to them, and even then you get different info depending who you speak to

Many companies will mirror the discount you have on another car, I'm with Brentacre and they do this.

There are a few that have this in the small print! I would rather pay a bit more and have manufactures new parts on the car should it all go wrong.

Adrian Flux allowed me to 'Mirror' my no claims. At the end if the day you can only drive one car at a time.

I think swift will be decent on the mod side of things as well. Some insurers won't cover my LPG converted Z without me paying £100 to have it put on an archaic register. Swift said LPG makes no difference to them as long as it was professionally fitted (which it was). If I claim, they will not repair/replace any of the LPG system which is fine by me

Strange my experience with Aviva differs - I have 3 cars insured with them and when adding the third recently I had no NCD to apply and they added it for the full year for £125 (admittedly it was only a Micra but they were very good - nobody has been able to come close to them over the last few years on price.....

This pretty much mirrors my experience with Aviva, I was with them when I bought my first Zed and they mirrored the maxed out NCD I had on my main car. At the end of the policy year I moved to a cheaper multi-car policy with Admiral and then promptly smashed up my main car. It may be an isolated incident but Admiral lost my business forever the day they phoned me up whilst my car was being repaired by their approved insurer and asked me where my car was as they had no record of it ever being delivered for repair after the accident! All a bit odd given that they'd told me where I needed to go to collect a couple of things out of the car and they had authorised the repairs that were already underway! A quick phone call to the garage confirmed that they really did have it and were in regular contact with Admiral, an even quicker call to Admiral told them they'd just lost a customer.

Anyway the four family cars are all now on an Aviva multi-car policy each with their own NCD's assigned to the appropriate main driver.
