Inspection milage counter jump.

You know when you turn on the ignition and get the inspection counter ?

My counter seems to have jumped from 7900ish to 6700 in the space of roughly 200 actual miles . Is this natural and why would this happen ?

Car is used regularly , not driven particularly hard and generally looked after (ie warmed up properly etc)

I'm currently at 29000 miles , am I right in saying it's an oil service I'm due next ?

The counter goes down based on mpg, if really low it will move faster.

It could either be an inspection 1 or oil service based on that mileage, look at the screen on start up and it will tell you. Also refer to your service book.
