Inspection II 8k miles early?

I did pose the question on my other thread but thought i'd make the question more obvious to get ppls thoughts
Ive got a chance that i may be able to get a free service on the ///M which is due an inspection 2 in 8k miles (future in law is a secret shopper for car dealers)
Now i know service intervals are there for a reason etcetc but just wondered if it would be a good idea? I mean it would surely be a shame to miss out on a free service which would otherwise cost 800-1500 quid? It would all be done at a bmw garage but just thought if anyone saw any reason why it shouldnt be done early in the view of saving quite a large sum of money. :thumbsup:
 
It's about halfway through it's mileage cycle, which is theoretically about halfway through the 2 years on light mileage, and I have read of plenty people on here servicing their ///Ms on an annual basis - mmm-five springs to mind. Don't see any reason why you shouldn't, especially if it is free ! They'll then reset the computer and your next one will be an oil service.

See if you can get the brake fluid changed too, unless that's already part of the ///M service. Cheeky, but if you don't ask you don't get. A good test for your secret shopper as to the deals that can be had :wink:
 
There are prob some requirements tht have to be met and i've probably gotta just turn up and say "do an inspection two" rather than asking for extras/different things but im sure the in law will be able to tell me what to do depending on what brief he has been given, im assuming i cant hint to the dealers to offer me more/less its gotta be something that the dealers steer as its them under scrutiny, i know ideally it should be done in 8k miles time because it change the life limits of certain components but for the sake of £1k i may as well do it, it might not even happen because when he asked me if i wanted my car serviced for free it seemed too good to be true but he said he's done it with a few other cars, nothing like an ///m but he will find out this week if there is a price limit etc
just thought id pose the question though in case it happens
 
I had mine done 6k in advance but because the service interval was longer because of less than av milage. Although 8K might be pushing it.
 
May as well get an inspection 2 done while its under warranty anyway though
I kno doing it early will just bring the oil and inspection 1 service around sooner but least the biggie will have been done...
Although if anything needed replacing on a car tht was just out of BMW AUC i'd be pretty concerned..
 
Do you think they may ask why you are doing it so early? I suppose that isn't too hard to get around though is it?

i would probably try and make out that even though i had just got the car i like to know its in tip top condition as ive got some sort of ocd with cars? maybe? pretty sure they wouldnt try and talk me out of over servicing my car though lol...
