Inspection 2

My 2004 3.0SE is about to reach 30k miles when I take it off Sorn in the Spring - was thinking of having an Inspection 2 carried out even though as I understand it mileage for this inspection would normally not be due until around 40k - is this really necessary ? - I've kept to the usual 2 yearly oil/brake fluid change and it's had an Inspection 1 in the past . I understand the principle of playing safe but don't see the point of paying for something that is not necessary - obviously it will get another time related oil change/brake fluid change again even though there are very few miles between.

As an aside I really do intend to use it more next year albeit not when it's raining :roll:

You're right, 12 year old plugs-but only 30k on them? If it's running sweet I'd leave them at that mileage.
Agree with the oil change though, best vitamin for your engine going

Most likely the plugs would be fine but long years + low miles i would assume many start ups / car leaves garage / car ticks over / car returns to garage for what it costs id have them changed whilst the oil was being done :wink:

It would be worth changing the plugs. At the very least remove and check. Just hope they haven't seized after 12 years

Ok, in the face of insurmountable odds I'd check/change the plugs as well (even though I don't think it needs them)

Good point but hopefully should be okay - not like wheel nuts - no water ingress etc - will have it checked though - having said that it would be daft to take the trouble to take them out and not replace them .

Have you ever kept a Zed long enough for it to need Plugs Mr Wilks?.... or fuel come to think of it :wink:

It was mentioned by my indi. Like you my service intervals are extended but he mentioned that he wouldn't want to leave plugs 12 years without bring touched.
