Inspection 2, Main Dealer, 10 Year Old Zed

Just had an Inspection 2 carried out by Cooper BMW Banstead. Although my cars only done 56k miles I’m really pleased to report there were no major issues just a smearing wiper blade and a crack in the centre brake light - so maybe there is some truth in the German engineering thing!

Inspection 2 was £350 (which was £10 cheaper than a local independent quote) and £72 for a brake fluid service/change

So overall very happy, excellent service from Coopers Banstead, they checked for any recalls and even cleaned out the roof drains free of charge :D

Hopefully (fingers crossed) it'll be 15k miles or 2 years til the next visit! :driving: :driving: :driving:
 
Yup, good stuff. I had my inspection 2 done at my main dealer and it was somewhere around 400 euros including new wipers, full aircon service and coolant flush. I just couldn't see an indy do it any cheaper :-)
 
For me the signed BMW service 'guarantee' was an added bonus, an additional peace of mind that wouldn't automatically come from an indie. My service book looks better being all main dealer but I am aware that the indie market out there is helping to keep some of these main dealer prices realistic. The other main dealer quote for an inspection 2 was £520!
 
Great news. Good result.

It's always something to consider when buying 2nd hand, the Inspection 2. If the car has recently had one done, it's a good thing for peace of mind. Especially if it gets a clean bill of health from a main dealer....

Good to hear you had a decent experience from a Stealer :) . I mean Dealer.

When I had my Zed, the rear brake light had a piece broken off it and I hadn't realised for ages (don't think it was that noticable when the brake light was on). So depending on how yours is cracked, might not need anything done to it.
 
Yes they offered to order and replace the centre brake light but the crack is so small you hardly notice it so I will leave til it gets worse/falls off!
