Insect removing

Hi all

This may of been covered before so apologies if it has.
What does everyone use to remove insects safely and easily? I have used various insect removers which haven't been great. I have also used the insect sponges but dont feel they can be good for the paint as they still feel abrasive.

I read online that wd40 is great but surely that can't be safe for the paintwork!?!

Look forward to hearing how you all get rid of them.

I just use an APC, spray it on, let it dwell for 5 minutes and then wash off. The trick to insect removal is letting the cleaner soak in. Think of it like letting dried food on plates, comes right off after a soak.

Thanks maniac got to get that front clean if I'm putting new grilles on! Pm sent btw

I just went and bought some simoniz bug shifter from halfords. The liquid is bright green.

I had my reservations as I usually go for the decent brands, but autoglyms insect remover is worthless, so tried this.

Worked great and got 1500 miles worth of scottish insects off the front of my car in minutes. Not bad for a fiver.

Soak with water, snow foam for 5 or 10 minutes, rinse right off. For me the trick is to keep on top of your wax, then the suicidal little buggers slip off :)

Warm water is the thing, with a bit of wash/wax shifts 'em right off with no scrubbing - simples

I never use any cleaner. As others have posted I just soak them.

Generally I rinse the car and ensure the bugs are all wet. Wash the car, return to the area of bugs and they just wash off with minimal effort.

+1 - part of me thinks that the chemicals in that stuff will strip off all the wax I have spent hours putting on, so I just let it soak.

... And have to add one of my favourite jokes. Last thing to go through a fly's mind as it hits your bumper? It's arse :D

Yes and of course if a fly hits the screen of a train head, on then at an instant it must stop. If the fly stops, then so must the train....
