Inner roof tear

Hi

I have a 2 inch rip in the corner of the inner roof next to the passenger head rest.

Is this a common problem and has anyone repaired it or is it best just to leave ?

Thanks

I have the same thing but on the driver's side so I'll be interested to see what replies you get. I did think about buying a curved upholstery needle and sewing it up just to stop the tear spreading (not that it has so far). Luckily it is out of view unless you make the effort to look for it.

I spoke to a smart repair guy and he said approx £40 to repair but he said it will probably happen again.
The rip seems to be where the roof rubs on a trim behind the seatbelt as it folds down.

I thought this would be a common problem ?

mine used to rub slightly on its way down but never enough to cause any damage... how high are your seats!

Hi
It's not rubbing on the seat. The roof rubs on the corner of the plastic trim that is behind the roll over hoops.
