Inner door handles

Hi guys,

has anyone changed the inside door handles? Is it easy?

My plastic ones are looking worn and they look bad. I found these on eBay

Thanks

You'll need some plastic trim removal tools or you risk damaging your door leather.

They are simple enough to remove but there is one clip you do have to give quite a bit of force to make the handle pop out.

I changed mine about a week ago but bought a pair of used door cards, removed the handles and then sold the cards again. Cost me about £10.

No you don't remove the leather. I included a link on how to remove the handles in my first post. I should've made that clearer :D

The handles i found apparently don't work on a 2003/4 car. Is there a difference? I can't see any difference :/

I don't know if there is a difference or not as I used second hand parts which happened to be from a 2004 car for my 2004 car.

Hopefully someone else can help.

ordered the parts and fit them yesterday. Have to say it was a 10 minute job. Super happy with the results :)

Thanks for the information

You definitely don't need trim removal tools on facelift cars - if you do, you're doing it wrong.
Just push the plastic trim downwards by about 5mm, then it all pops off easily.
I wrapped mine instead of changing them.https://z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=128633
I have replaced the handles to that you use to open the door.

I have already replaced the closing handle. Got them on wish.com for usd12 each including delivery. Replacing them was a 1 minute job :)
